Professor of Biology
Field of expertise: Biology
James Taylor is Professor of Biology at Johns Hopkins University, where he is also an Associate Professor of Computer Science. He is one of the original developers of the Galaxy platform for data analysis, and his group continues to work on extending the Galaxy platform. The Galaxy project allows computational tools to be trivially integrated into an analysis environment in which experimental biologists can construct complex analyses. James is interested in novel computing infrastructure, user interface, and visualization approaches for facilitating biological discovery, both within the context of the Galaxy project and beyond it.
