SGCI-Affiliated Students in Winning Teams at IBM BlueHack

Three students who have been involved with SGCI programs were invited to IBM's first BlueHack for Historically Black Colleges and Universities . The event, which took place October 18-20, 2017, drew 103 students from 32 institutions who were divided into teams and tasked with completing a specific project that they were then able to pitch to IBM judges. ADMI-Sponsored Introduction to Science Gateways Workshop

This workshop was hosted at the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research, Elizabeth City State University, from August 6-8, 2013. It introduced participants to common uses of Science Gateways, highlighted several approaches to modern gateway design, and walked participants through the process of building and customizing gateways for a specific science discipline. HUBbub 2012 Nancy Wilkins-Diehr chaired the 1:30-5:30pm session on September 25. The session included an overview of the institute, its year one goals, and a series of lightning talks focusing on different kinds of gateways in use today. Four representatives from ECSU attended, and they posted a  report of their experience .
