HPC Research Experience for Undergraduates 2018 at South Dakota State University

A Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) will be offered at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. The program will run from May 29, 2018-August 3, 2018. Participants will engage in an intensive ten-week program of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and data analysis research in the following areas:

  • Computational and Applied Mathematics & Statistics
  • Engineering and Technology
  • Biological Sciences

Student participants will actively engage in HPC/Big Data and Data Analysis training sessions. In addition, student researchers will participate in holistic, integrated research activities focused on the responsible and ethical conduct of research and professional development.

This REU is seeking students who have completed one to two years of college and who are majoring in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computational sciences, biological sciences, technology, or a related discipline. Students attending community or four-year colleges are encouraged to apply. 

Participants will receive a $5,000 stipend and $1,800 meal and travel allowance. Campus housing will be provided. 

The application deadline is February 28, 2018. Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
