PEARC22 Student Program Call for Participation

The Practice and Experience in Advanced Research Computing Conference (PEARC22) will convene July 10–14, 2021, in Boston, Massachusetts. The conference theme, Revolutionary: Computing, Connections, You, acknowledges rapid shifts that have become a constant in the field of advanced computing; the PEARC community’s role in creating new, state-of-the-art methods; and our imperative, as individuals, to achieve an ethical and connected computing future.

Student Program (SP) highlights include an orientation day, a resumé clinic, mentor-protege pairing, an exhibitor Q&A, and a new tabling event called “The Village!” It’s five full days of professional development designed to help scholars envision themselves working in research computing and data science (RCD) careers within academia, industry, and government agencies.

Applicants are encouraged to work alongside experienced professionals at their home institutions to develop proposals that they will submit to the general conference technical program, as well as posters, papers, birds-of-a-feather (BoF) sessions, and panels. The first deadline is February 18. Students from demographics that are traditionally underrepresented in RCD careers and U.S. agency Research Experience for Undergraduates (REUs) from a range of disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Submissions will be reviewed in April, and acceptance letters will be sent by May 1.
