As part of the NSF OAC CI Webinar series, SGCI's Nancy Wilkins-Diehr will present "Science Gateways: What are they and how can they boost your research" on April 18, 2019, at 2 pm ET.
Abstract:
Founded in 2016, the Science Gateways Community Institute (http://www.sciencegateways.org) was one of the NSF’s first two software institutes funded via the Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure’s Software Infrastructure for Sustained Innovation (SI2) program. Tune in to learn more about what science gateways are, gateway success stories, how gateways can further your work and what SGCI services are available at no cost to you. Community events and student programs will be highlighted as well.
Nancy Wilkins-Diehr is the director of the Science Gateways Institute and has been involved with gateway-related programs since 2004. She received her Bachelor's degree from Boston College in Mathematics and Philosophy and her Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from San Diego State University. She has been with SDSC since 1993 and has held a variety of management positions leading NSF-funded advanced cyberinfrastructure projects including NPACI, TeraGrid and the XSEDE ECSS program.
