HICSS54: Important Updates

This year, HICSS has received over 1,400 papers. They are currently being peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published early in January in the Proceedings of the 54th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences. The committee believes that it is going to be another impressive set of cutting-edge research papers. HICSS-54 Proceedings are expected to hit another record of downloads. The latest figure we have for the download of the last three HICSS Proceedings is nearly 1.5 million.

Since 1968, HICSS has been providing an interactive working environment for scholars from academia and the industry from around the world to exchange ideas in various areas of information, computer, and system sciences. HICSS is sad to say that it will not take place on the island of Kauai in January 2021 due to the pandemic and its ramifications.

After having consulted with all parties involved in putting together the conference, studying the effectiveness of recent IS/CS/Business conferences forced to go virtual, and carefully considering all options, the committee came to the conclusion that HICSS-54 online presence will be limited. The HICSS-54 committee is working on the details of how to proceed with such an online presence and revising both the rate and the structure of the conference fee. Stay tuned for further announcements.
