Request Letter of Collaboration

There are multiple ways to engage with SGX3 and SGCI on proposals.

Our services to the research community can be leveraged in proposals. Although we are funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), we can also provide letters of support for proposals to other federal scientific research agencies, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense (DoD), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Department of Energy (DoE), and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). Here is some sample text that could be modified for a proposal to the NSF:

We assist research teams with sophisticated web development, speeding access to unique resources. Consulting projects are very collaborative and the development team can expect to gain many of the skills needed to sustain the gateway.

NSF Letters of Collaboration are often required to say only the following:

If the proposal submitted by PI XX entitled "YY" is selected for funding by the NSF, it is my intent to collaborate as detailed in the Project Description or the Facilities, Equipment or Other Resources section of the proposal.

PIs may also write our staff directly into a proposal. This is an opportunity to leverage NSF-recognized expertise in Science Gateways and get exactly what you need for your project. In this case, our member institution(s) would be collaborators on your proposal, included as funded personnel, and can help write proposal text.

While we are most familiar with NSF requirements for letters of collaboration, we are happy to accommodate the process for other agencies.
