Support available to students and other conference participants
Are you an enrolled student or a professional under the age of 40? If so, you can apply for the Young Professional of the Year Award!
The award includes a $500 honorarium and awardees can request travel funds to attend Gateways 2019, where they will be recognized.
Funds are available to support participation in this conference, with some funds specifically designated for student support. Priority for non-students will be given to those who have accepted presentations or can make a compelling case for how their participation will contribute to the science gateways community and/or positively impact their future research or educational activities. Presenting at the conference is not mandatory, but preferred, and in fact, some funds have been set aside specifically for non-presenters.
Because our travel support funds are from the National Science Foundation, we are only allowed to fund participants from US institutions. International students at US institutions are eligible.
Travel Support Grant Application Deadlines:
- Early-Bird Travel Support (for presenters only): Applications are due Friday, July 12 (we'll notify you by Friday, July 19)
- Regular Travel Support (for all applicants, including presenters): Applications due Friday, August 9 (we'll notify you by Monday, August 19).
