Sustainable Technical Communities (STC) Funding Program

The Internet Society believes that local technical communities create, sustain, and defend a stronger, more resilient Internet. The Internet Society has announced that the Sustainable Technical Communities (STC) funding program is now open for applications. Funding will specifically support the organization of technical events and will be available to eligible organizations who are directly involved in the planning and execution of a technical event, with up to USD $4,000 available on an annual basis (per calendar year).

Some examples of events that can be supported by this program include:

- The launch of a new technical community in a country

- A technical community gathering to identify current or future threats for the internet

- A technical community gathering to share best practices on specific topics

Applications for the STC funding program will be accepted on a rolling basis starting on 15 Feb 2023.

Please note a change in the application process; all applications for funding must be submitted online through the Internet Society Foundation’s grant management platform 8-10 weeks prior to the date of your event. Only applications submitted online will be considered.
