UK Software Sustainability Institute

The Software Sustainability Institute cultivates and improves research software practice. The SSI provides guidance, training, policy, and tools to thousands of researchers and research software engineers working across all disciplines to help achieve a vision of “better software, better research”.

SGCI clients have access to the SSI's resources and services, including SSI’s software evaluation service which provides feedback on the main issues that affect the sustainability of your software, an open call to propose joint software consultancy projects, training coordinated with The Carpentries, and guides on all aspects of research software development from building a community through project management to preserving software. The SSI also hosts several community-driven events a year, supporting collaboration across disciplines and recruits members for expert panels to provide insight on solving key challenges.
