The mission and major goal of PICKSC is to support an international community of PIC and plasma kinetic software developers, users, and educators, and to increase the use of this software for accelerating the rate of scientific discovery. To support this mission, the objective of the PICKSC gateway project is to provide a web portal for users to access, experience, and exploit PICKSC software for education and research. The gateway should allow users to edit and store input files which can run PICKSC software at UCLA (through the web interface) or to use the web interface to build input files for running elsewhere. The gateway should enable teachers and students with minimal PIC and/or HPC experience to initialize, run, and diagnose plasma physics simulations. It should also enable more experienced users such as graduate students, postdocs, and researchers to run simulations on HPC resources with PICKSC software.
